WELCOME TO THREE BARS FARM

REFINE YOUR RIDING, FROM

THE GROUND UP

PURPOSE-BRED FOR PERFORMANCE

Embarking on a mission, Alaina had a vision. Creating a boutique breeding and training operation in Hayesville, North Carolina. "We started breeding because we couldn't find the type of horse that we wanted to purchase," said Brooks. "So, we went ahead and made our own.  It was a great combination. He turned out to be exactly what we were wanting, so we've kind of replicated the recipe."

Growing up competing in barrel racing and western pleasure before eventually landing in the hunter jumper land and her mother bred and raised Quarter horses. But she hadn't taken a stab at breeding until 2018, when her first homebred, Caron Poivre, hit the ground. With the Westphalian (Coroado-Laola), she entered her first hunter breeding classes and earned U.S. Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year honors in the 2-year-old hunter breeding division.

Since then, more homebreds have earned more tricolors and Horse of the Year awards including Leading Hunter Breeder and Owner.

Our No. 1 goal is to prove that this breeding translates into the performance world, not just the hunter breeding world. Ultimately wanted to create a horse that was going to last and was to going to have longevity in the performance world but also be a correct and well put together horse on top of being a top performance horse.

ABOUT THREE BARS FARM

Just a little information about our operation and about us. Alaina has been involved with horses all of her life from running barrels as a small child at the local rodeos, to working as a assisting vet- tech. Breeding and raising American Quarter horses along with training, riding and grooming on the Hunter/Jumper “A” circuit. She has also worked with different stables and barns from mucking out 28 stalls a day just to get a chance to ride a horse to traveling on the “A” circuit as a competitor. Aside from our busy lives running a boarding and breeding operation, in Hayesville, NC we also show on the local and “A” hunter/jumper circuit in North Carolina and in Georgia. We specialize in breeding superior young stock for the next generation of horsemen. Three Bars Farm has a small lesson/training program for in house clients. We travel to the local circuit shows with these clients monthly.

Currently our operation is located at 5538 Tusquittee Rd.  just outside of Hayesville, NC. Three Bars Farm is owned and operated by Alaina Brooks and her husband Brad Swanson. Three Bars Farm strives to provide outstanding individual care for you and your horse’s needs.  We look forward to being able to assist you in the future. Thank you for choosing Three Bars Farm and trusting us with your children, horses and/or yourself.
